Baby Update Week 18
OK, so last week we had another ultrasound. This one was to look for any markers of defects, etc. And possibly find out the sex. Well, the only thing the doctor saw were Bilateral choroid plexus cysts. Usually benign tumors that resolve themselves in a short period. Due to how the doctor told us, we were kind of upset/worried and did a lot of research. Jessica had another standard checkup appointment today and asked the doctor more about it all. The doctor said she is 100% not worried about it, because there were no other signs. The neck looked good, the hands and feet looked good, etc.
The baby's heartrate was 150 or 180, I couldn't make it out on the monitor, and the doctor didn't mention it. Today's appointment the heartbeat also sounded strong and fast to Jess, but again not real data to measure. Summer was also with Jessica at the appointment and got to hear the baby's hearbeat.
Also, the only data point the doctor gave us was that the baby was now about 6 ounces. Everything is going well.
We did get to take away this picture from the ultrasound. For some reason the doctor likes to draw on it. I guess that helps most people, but I'd like an untouched photo...

And here is finally a pic of Jess' belly. There is definitely a new little baby growing in there!

This has been a pretty tough pregnancy for Jessica, but it's finally starting to get a little better. We all still seem to get sick and share the bug, so we ALL GET SICK EVERY TIME! The naseous feelings at least have mostly subsided. The last remaining nervous thing for Jessica is that she hasn't felt the baby move, yet. Summer was SO active she felt her all of the time. Jess just wants to feel movement so SHE KNOWS the baby is alright. We KNOW (s)he is OK, but to feel it is so comforting!
OK, we go back on the 20th of July to get another more detailed ultrasound. The doctor "prescribed" a fuller detailed check to make sure the cysts had resolved and because she knows that may help us find out the sex of the baby. So, that should be the next update. Til then, think good thoughts!
