Room Update

OK, we did it, we made some good progress since last we checked in. I bought some paint yesterday, and today I used it! We went from a pretty bright white on these shelves to a creamy color, just a bit lighter than the baseboards, but darker than the blinds. They look good. Check it out, stocked with the cool monkey/Curious George trinkets.

Trinket Shelves
And we finally hung up the rest of the soft wall hangings, mostly above the crib...if they fall, Jack will be OK. :-)

Art Above the Crib
And the dresser is all cleaned off now, with just the lamp and a cool rocking Curious George. (Notice Summer, Jackson...she's your big sister. She's just checking out your stuff...you two can play together, soon!)

Tall Dresser
Well, Jacky, young boy...this is your room! We hope you like it. We have one more Curious George painting (a canvassed poster, really...will look pretty cool) to hang when it gets here, and that's it. We have some clothes, diapers, wipes, lotions, blankets, your room is decorated...WOW! We're ready, now!!

See ya soon!

35 Weeks

So, Friday was 35 weeks, and we (yeah, I went with Jess) went to the regularly scheduled check-up.

Everything went well. Jackson is growing at a nice pace, and is following the instructions, as the doc said, as the uterus is 35 cm long. He says it grows about 1 cm per week, so that all looks good.

I got to hear Jackson's heartbeat for the first time in a long while. His heartrate was 120, then the doc jiggled him a little bit and it went up to 150, so he's physiologically responding nicely.

Jess has had some contractions a few times here and there. The doc says the second baby tends to have more cramping. Hmmm... That he said isn't in the fine print, noone tells others about it, but it happens. So, everything is pretty good.

Our next appointment is on Tuesday, Halloween! That will be more than 36 weeks along. We are getting so close!

We talked to him about the due datebeing near Thanksgiving and the possibility of a inducement to make sure the doctors are available, etc. He says they don't do purely elective inductions, but if your Bishop's Score is high enough, above 6 I believe he said, then they'd be open to it, based on needs, etc. So, what is Jess' Bishop Score? Well, he said she's already at about a 3, so, if everything keeps progressing, there is a good chance they would be comfortable doing the induction on November 16th (they do their hospital days on Thursdays). However, Jess doesn't feel he'll make it that long, due to all these contractions...so, we better get that room finished.

We bought some paint for some shelves and have some more trinkets to put up, to make his room look more homey. So, we almost ready for him. We'll probably work more on taht today. And make another post later tonight with pics...I hope!

Online Baby Shower

Well, since we're so far away from everyone, we are hosting an "Online Baby Shower." Check out the site and make sure to leave comments, as we'll save a "copy" of that webpage for him, as we're saving this blog. Many of you will be getting an email with an invite to the shower shortly. We're just busy loading the place up with all the emails of everyone, first.

Next Monday we'll be putting up a guess the date contest.

And we'll be holding a real shower on November 4th. Hopefully I can get a few co-workers with kids and some neighbors to come over.

Jack's Room

So, before I posted some pics of the furniture, after we painted, but now I am going to show off his bedding and room decor a little.

Jackson's Crib
Table and Wall Hangings
Lamp and Monkey
I need to put up the wall hangings and we want to find a few more things for the walls, possibly a bookshelf, or some art work. We'll see...time is running out, but Jackson probably won't be really using the room until January, or so...
